The WWE is giving fans a chance to join its writing team just days after the company enraged fans by seemingly putting The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania.
Have you ever wanted to write for theWWEand see your storylines produced on Raw, Smackdown, NXT or even pay-per-view events? Well, now’s your opportunity.
Amidrecent company backlash, WWE has listed a new position for a writer/producer on its company website and it sounds like a potential dream job for anyone who loves the industry.
WWE hiring writers amid WrestleMania 40 backlash
The WWE’s corporate websitedescribes the joband the responsibilities, some of which are more geared towards social media trends.
However, WWE also requires five years of experience in writing for TV, film or social media, along with experience working with on-screen talent.
Interestingly, it also states that “understanding of WWE’s audience” isn’t a requirement, but rather a “plus.”
This job opening was, amusingly, posted the day of a controversial Smackdown segment where it appeared that The Rock would be facing Roman Reigns instead of Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 40was, according to insiders, supposed to be Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes all along, with The American Nightmare “finishing the story” that began last year.
For over two years, the WWE built towards a WrestleMania rematch between Cody and Roman, but plans reportedly changed following theVince McMahon scandal that connected back to Brock Lesnar.
With CM Punk’s injury further impacting plans, the WWE pivoted to seemingly having The Rock, one of the biggest names in the company, take over, which set thefandom into a furious frenzy.
Nothing is set in stone, though, so we’ll have to see how WWE moves forward. Maybe even you could have a part to play if you become a writer.
