The new Blood Moon PvP event has taken center stage inWorld of Warcraft: Season of Discovery. There are some issues though, and one is affectingsome classesfar more than others.

In the first phase ofSeason of Discovery,Ashenvale served as the major setting for World PvP. It was a refreshing change from the usual instance content that WoW offers and, despite a few hiccups here and there, it was widely seen as a welcome addition.

As part of the game moving on, the developer announcedthe Blood Moon PvP event. Taking place in Stranglethorn Vale, it is a vastly different proposition to Ashenvale. The biggest difference is that it’s a free-for-all, with players able to kill members of either faction for a stacking buff.

Unfortunately, one of the event’s major mechanics is creating a disadvantage for some classes.

Silenced Warlocks are sitting ducks in the Blood Moon event

OnTwitter/X,one fan pointed out a major issue for Warlocks in the Blood Moon event. Essentially, there is a 20-second silence after resurrecting during the event. This disproportionately affects Warlocks, who cannot summon pets or mounts, leaving them as sitting ducks to nearby players.

In response to this post, the Senior Game Producer behind Season of Discovery confirmed that they are aware of the issue and are in the process of searching for a workaround.

Yeah we are aware of this. Gonna try and get a workaround for this asap.

What exactly this will look like is unclear, but it will likely be a change to the silence mechanic for specific caster classes. The developer is making changes quickly in response, so this shouldn’t remain an issue for too long.

If the lengths between phases remain relatively consistent, there will be plenty of time for players to enjoy the Blood Moon event once changes have been implemented. Whether that will stop them being destroyed byStarsurge Druidsremains to be seen.
