One new feature that has made users confused is the “snap tokens” which appear to be a type of currency exclusive to the app.
But what are they for and how do you use them? Here’s everything you need to know.
What are Snap tokens?
Snapchat’s tokens work as a currency in the app where users can use their tokens for different things on the app.
There are different ways to trade your tokens for different things. These include redeeming them as gifts to send to their favorite creators or redeeming for digital goods in the app, including exclusive clothes for your Bitmoji.
It is important to know that tokens are non-transferable to other users, and users have to confirm they’re over 18 years old before they start using tokens on the app.
Tokens start at $0.99 for 80 tokens when you buy them through the Token shop in the Snapchat app. The most you can buy os 1,100 tokens for $9.99.
Snap Tokens are only available for purchase in the Token Shop within the Snapchat app. To access the Token Shop, ensure you’re signed into the App Store on your iOS device or the Play Store on your Android device.

Once you’ve purchased Tokens, you can see how many Tokens you have available to redeem by going to your Token balance.
