At last! The cast of Virgin River Season 6 has begun filming – but unfortunately, there’s still bad news attached.

Ever since the dramatic cliffhanger at the end ofSeason 5 Part 2, fans have been clamoring for more episodes ofVirgin River.

With Christmas finally out of the way, the storyline is set to get back to the bigger matters in hand – namely, what on EarthEverett wants to tell Melafter suddenly reappearing in her life.

It’s now been announced that filming forVirgin River Season 6has finally started, but the update is not without its bad news.

Deadlineoriginally confirmed the show’s new release date at the beginning of the month, when the streaming platform announced its slate for the rest of the year. This was then doubled down on when reports surfaced of a newVirgin River prequelfocusing on the relationship between Mel’s father Everett and her mother Sarah.

The timing of the prequel couldn’t be better, with Everett previously revealing that he has something pressing to tell Mel. Though speculation for what’s to come has been rife, some fans aren’t entirely convinced that theprequel seriesis needed.

In the meantime, behind-the-scenes snaps from Virgin River Season 6 are already being posted online, including a photo of lead stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson.

“Fantastic news and they both look great!” one fanpostedin response to the photo on Reddit, with others more concerned,stating: “These people are aging a lot more than they really would in the 2 months span this show has covered lol.”

Others voiced issues with the supposed character wardrobe,adding: “Martin is in jeans and a jacket and Alex is in a floral spring number. The wardrobe department does my head in.”
