When the band made the album announcement, they also shared the cover. The album art featured the duo dressed all in black, their silhouettes set against a wide-sweeping fire-centric background.

Hyping up the release, Twenty One Pilots sent out red letters to their fans with cryptic wordplay and clues. Bandito Hubpointed outthat in one of the letters, a word-for-word definition for the word “overcompensate” could be found.

On February 22, the band posteda new letter from Clancyin a video clip, at the end of which there is a musical teaser, with fans assuming it’s a teaser for ‘Overcompensate.’
