Super Smash Con had to be renamed due to potential copyright issues with Nintendo, but the long-running tournament is back under the new name ofSupernova.

The four-day event will run from August 8 to August 11 from the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly.

On the Ultimate side, there is no shortage of talent and monumental rivalries in store. Reining champion and Steve main Acola is back in the US alongside his biggest nemesis in Japan, Miya. FaZe Sparg0 will also be looking to capture his first SSC, but will have to do better than his North American counterpart, Sonix.

Speaking of Sonix, the Lumonisity star will be going for his first tournament win of the year, having come second at every big event he’s entered.

While the Melee side will be without Zain, it too is stacked. Cody Schwab, Mang0, jmook,Hungrybox, plup and moky will also be fighting it out for the crown.

Like otherSuper Smash Cons, the event will also feature less popular games in the Smash franchise including smaller tournaments for Smash 64, Brawl, and Smash 4 on Wii U.

The tournament kicks off on Thursday, August 8 with Wii U and Brawl Doubles, although Luminosity will reveal the Top 10 Ultimate and Melee players starting at 8:30pm EST/5:30pm PST.

On Friday, the action really heats up with doubles and singles action for each game as the competitors begin to dwindle. See the tweet below for all event times.
