What’s new in Stardew Valley update 1.6?
While Stardew Valley’s last update focused on late-game content, update 1.6 adds new features across the game, ranging from new events and features to bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. In fact, ConcernedApe even recommended starting a new game to experience it all.
Among the update’s biggest changes are a new Desert Festival for those who have repaired the bus, a “mastery” system, and a new farm layout in the Meadowlands Farm.
In terms of NPC content, villagers now have winter outfits and plenty of new lines of what ConcernedApe calls “dynamic dialogues,” including reactions to specific gifts and custom lines from romance candidates when accepting a Flower Dance Invitation.
Stardew Valley players who can’t get enough of their virtual husband or wife will also be able to purchase Spouse Portraits once they’ve reached 14 hearts with them.
For the modding community,ConcernedApe also shareda separate set of changes for mod creators to help them update their work to be compatible with 1.6.
