Former FIFA and EA Sports FC pro Won ‘WonChangYeon’ Chang-yeon has been found guilty of faking an IQ of 53 to get out of his military service.
It’s not uncommon to see mostSouth Korean esports starsgo off to complete their compulsory military service, but one player tried to outsmart the system by literally playing dumb.
Chang-yeon, whoplayed FIFAfor Liiv SANDBOX, reportedly tried to get out of his military service after originally being cleared for activity duty following his grades in the state physical examination.
According to theKorea Herald, the esports pro faked his answers on a psychological test in order to be diagnosed with mental disorders and an IQ of 53.

Despite faking the test results to get out of basicmilitarytraining, WonChangYeon would still have been required to serve as social service personnel.
Unfortunately, police caught wind of this, and after an investigation, he was indicted for draft dodging.
On Monday, January 29, an Incheon District Court found the FIFA andEA FCpro guilty of violating the Military Service Act. He was sentenced to one year in jail and must complete 120 hours of community service.
WonChangYeon, who retired from esports back in August following his indictment, was still producing content for YouTube.
Following the court’s decision, the gamer posted on hisAfreecatv accountsaying he was preparing a statement and apologized to fans. The longer statement still has yet to be released.
