Solo Leveling is taking a small break after Episode 7, with the follow-up to Sung Jinwoo’s fight with Cerberus actually being a jumping on point for many viewers.
Solo Levelinghas truly become one of the hits of the spring season. Following an E-class hero who suddenly gets the ability to move up through the ranks in a world where humans raid dungeons like an MMORPG, theanimegarnered a strong fandom within just a few episodes.
In Episode 7 of the anime show, we saw Sung Jinwoo take on one of his greatest challenges yet in Cerberus, the three-headed dog, here guarding a dungeon that lasts 100 floors.
It ended in anunexpected away, and, sadly, fans will have to wait to see what’s coming next.
Solo Leveling Episode 8 is being replaced by a recap
This was revealed on the officialX(formerly Twitter) account, and some viewers aren’t happy. “Another A1 recap episode,” said one user. “Worst news I’ve heard all week,” added another.
“The famous Aniplex recap strikes once again,” says a highly votedcommenton Reddit. Distributor Aniplex has a habit of rolling out recaps, with shows such as 86 and Mashle: Magic and Muscles both getting mid-season montage episodes.
Frustrating though this may be, there are good reasons for such practice. Anime production works to hard deadlines, and creating a week’s breathing space can give the entire crew time to make sure we get the best quality possible. This allows for possible delays due to events and holidays happening in Japan.
Specifically for Solo Leveling, another possible reason is Taito Ban, the voice actor behind protagonist Sung Jinwoo, contracting Covid-19. He confirmed onXthat he was ill on February 13, and presumably he took a break from recording his lines to rest his voice.
Whatever the case, we have a little bit longer to wait before Solo Leveling returns. Why not check out thebest anime like Solo Levelingin the meantime?
