Misprinted cards make up a niche portion of the Pokemon TCG community but – as one lucky TCG player has shown today – they’re absolutely worth chasing as a collector.
Finding aPokemoncard that looks a bit off can sometimes make people think they’ve picked up a fake. While in some cases this is unfortunately true, in others it can simply be a case of a manufacturing error.
Misprints come in all shapes and sizes. Cards may be misaligned or cut weirdly, they may have the wrong color scheme, or they may even have strange holofoil designs.

Pokemon TCG collector gets a CGC 9 misprint
Pokemon card collectorMrLocknetshared some snaps lately of an interesting misprint in aReddit post, explaining that they’d just received it back from a grading company, getting a respectable grade 9 for the unique piece.
Alongside the picture, they commented, saying, “Just received this back from cgc. I think it’s the holy grail I’m my collection.”
The card in question is a Burger King Platinum stamp promo iteration of the Glaceon from the Majestic Dawn set, which came out in the Diamond and Pearl era of the game back in 2008. It’s a fairly standard card from the front with a nice shine to it, but on the back, there’s a fantastic color bar error up top.
The other Pokemon fans in the comments congratulated MrLocknet, calling the card beautiful and noting how valuable it could be. One comment adds, “Beautiful card! The misalignment errors can be worth a lot, Glaceon is also a pretty popular pokemon.”
It’s certainly an interesting misprint and it doesn’t fall into the typical categories of what an error card may look like. One user mentioned how they’d “spent longer than they’d like to admit” checking out the front of the card and trying to spot what was up with it.
