Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s new patch finally resolves issues introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violetare infamous for their shoddy state at launch, with a litany of glitches and performance issues that led to widespread mockery from fans and the press alike.

The negative attention did little to deter people from buying the Gen 9 Pokemon games, as they’re among thebest-selling entries in the series. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are hardly the first games with a rocky launch, which were later saved by updates.

Many of the issues with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet still remain, but the next patch finally has a release date, with the goal of resolving problems that appeared in The Indigo Disk DLC, some of which already have temporary fixes.

Bug Fixes

Even before the patch came out, we knew about theunobtainable TM in Pokemon Scarletand how it was in line to be fixed, as people who own that game cannot acquire Shieldon Claws to make the Metal Sound TM.

The more important issue involves both games, as theDragon Cheer issue is a big priority. Dragon Cheer is a new buffing move introduced in The Indigo Disk, which is overpowered, as its effect lingers after the Pokemon is switched. Dragon Cheer’s power is meant to fade when the Pokemon is returned to their Poke Ball.

Dragon Cheer is currently banned in competitive formats, as it’s far stronger than its original intention. The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet patch fixed Dragon Cheer, aligning it with similar buffing moves used by other Pokemon.

There haven’t been any notable fixes to the performance in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, but these glitches were a more pressing problem, especially the one involving Dragon Cheer, due to how if affected online battles.
