Massive new teamwork features are coming to Overwatch 2 with the game’s director even teasing the possibility of a mini-map among other highly-requested UI changes.

Overwatch 2is one of the most team-centric games available pitting squads of five against each other to fight over objectives and the devs really want to hone in on the teamwork aspect.

Outside of playing with friends or finding a group with microphones, Overwatch 2’s teamwork aspect has been hit or miss with some games lacking any sort of communication for bigultimate combos.

The devs are looking to change this though by making several key improvements to the PVP element of the hero shooter and Aaron Kellersharedwhat players should expect to see debut later this year.

Overwatch 2 PvE feature finally in development for PVP

Overwatch 2 PvE feature finally in development for PVP

According to Aaron Keller, ‘Party Frames’ is a feature that the team feels will make it easier for players to work together.

In PvE, there are on-screen health indicators for your whole team so you always know the HP of your allies. Afterplenty of demandfor this feature to come to the rest of the game, it seems like the devs are finally implementing it.

That’s not all, though. There are even more features in development, such as some changes to the spawn system arriving in Season 9 to makerespawningwith teammates “more prominent.”

“Other possible features such as backfill improvements, changes to our scoreboard, and ways to mitigate spawn camping also align with this. To show the extent of our discussions, even an ally-only mini-map feature was discussed,” Keller added.

He further noted that some of these features are already in the works while others remain under consideration. Just don’t get your hopes up for everything, especially the mini-map.

“I don’t think a mini-map has a high likelihood of shipping, but I do think that Party Frames are likely.”
