One Punch Man manga artist Yusuke Murata drops Season 3 update

Last week, One Punch Man manga artist Yusuke Murata shared on Twitter/X that he is not involved in Season 3 of the anime.

ちなみにワンパンマンのアニメ3期に関わってるわけではありません。アニメ制作は自前の企画です。

Although Murata is primarily a mangaka, he has shown an interest in animation on multiple occasions. He recently announced the establishment of his own animation studio. This made fans believe that he would contribute to the OPM anime. However, the artist says in his post that his new interest in animation is focused on his own projects, which most likely refer to the original anime Zaiyuki. Hence, any rumors regarding his involvement in One Punch Man Season 3 are completely false.

He cannot swim, always loses sumo battles, and despises cucumbers. He attempts to prove his worth as a kappa by participating in a lottery and earning the grand prize of a package tour to India. However, he falls into problems as soon as he arrives at the airport.

Season 2 ended with Garou being taken to Monster Association headquarters, implying a future alliance with the antagonists. Hence, the upcoming season will likely pick up from Volume 17, Chapter 86, continuing the conflict between the S-Class heroes and the Monster Association. Additionally, Orochi, the Monster King, will come to play an important role.
