The Visor from Immersed is a pair of mixed-reality smart glasses, that now come with a better battery and a Qualcomm chip under the hood.
Apple Vision Prowas announced almost a year back and has yet to start retailing; it has been able to trigger the need forspatial computing headsets.
The Visor is a fully standalone AR/VR headset with ultra-high resolution 4K micro-OLED displays per eye and a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset under the hood. The company claims that Visor has a battery backup of up to 3 hours, which should be good enough for you to take care of your emails, meetings and more.
Unlike theMeta Quest 3or Vision Pro, which looks like a bulky VR headset, the Visor sports a look or more like some skiing goggles. Weighing under 200 grams, the Visor is way lighter than the 650-gram Vision Pro, which has been described asextremely heavy and uncomfortablefor long hours by various journalists and experts who’ve demoed Apple’s maiden headset.
Interestingly, the Visor uses an application called Immersed, available forMac,Windows, andLinux, to project multiple virtual monitors for multitasking even while you’re on the go.
