An MW3 player is in shock after experiencing a death brought on by his gun being part of his character’s hitbox.
Hitboxes can be a little wonky in multiplayer games, and MW3 has seen itsfair share of issueswith them.
Things like network connectivity and lagand really impacthow a hitbox behaves and can make for a confusing interaction between players.
Buta truly surprising situationhas been shared online where a player’s gun being a part of their hitbox led to their shocking death.

Theclip was sharedon the MW3 subreddit, where the player asks the question: “So guns are a part of hit boxes now?”
The clip shows their character crouching behind cover andsuddenly getting killedin an instant. The enemy’s killcam shows that their killer saw their gun poking out from cover, and decided to shoot it, resulting in their death.
The entire event is being both praised for its humor, and railed against it for being in the gameby the community.
One user responded by saying, “What’s even funnier about this is the enemy who saw just the gun barrel and thought to try shooting it lol.”
It turns out that this is not an isolated incident, as others have come forward to share their own similar situations.
“I thought this was common knowledge. I do it often,” says one MW3 player in the comments.
Other users are pointing out that this kind of situation is another entry in a long list of issues that the game has.
