The new Mean Girls musical movie introduces a brand-new cast, alongside some familiar faces – so, here’s a breakdown of all the cameos in the new film.
Ashely Park
For those who have seen the Mean Girls musical, you won’t just recognise Ashley Park from Emily in Paris. She actually originated the role of Gretchen Wieners in the Broadway show, though the role is played by Bebe Wood in this movie.
Here, Park plays a rather uptight French teacher at North Shore High. However, we do see her partaking in social media trends alongside the kids later on.
Hamm plays the role of the uneducated educator well, and gets a number of funny lines throughout the flick.
While these aren’t exactly small cameo roles, we have Tina Fey and Tim Meadows reprising their roles as Principle Duval and Ms Norbury. They manage to step back into the same shows with ease, but there are some notable differences.
These differences mainly come through in new jokes, but there’s also a twist reveal that the pair are actually married in this version, playing off the budding romance that occurred in the original picture.
There are a number of montage scenes with both actors playing regular students filming themselves, and legitimate social media influencers, many of whom the movie’s target audience will be able to pick out. You can even spot some of them in the trailer below:
The singer has some great lines in these montages, as she also gets caught up in the high school drama (that she does not seem to know or care about).
That’s right, Lindsay Lohan is back, but not quite as Cady Heron. She plays the judge in the climactic Mathlete tournament, which leads to plenty of funny and referential lines.
Mean Girls will be available in US cinemas on January 12, and UK cinemas on January 17.
