Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić shows off his uncanny shot-making ability during a team practice at NBA All-Star Weekend.
This season, Dončić has proven to be an all-around threat with eight assists and eight rebounds per night. He has ten triple-doubles on the year and 66 total in his career. However, scoring is where the Slovenian star makes his mark.
Luka Dončić hits ridiculous shot at NBA All-Star Weekend
Dončić is well-regarded for his ability toget the ball in the basket at will. He thrives at getting to the basket and finishing strong while also possessing the talent to step back and drain three-pointers just as easily.
Several NBA players have named Dončić one of the league’smost challenging defensive assignments. On Saturday, during a Western Conference All-Star practice, the Mavericks centerpiece showed why he is held to such high regard. He sunk a shot that any kid on the playground would be proud of.
While standing near the half-court line, Dončić looked over at the camera and said one word, “Bounce.” At first, the crowd seemed puzzled, but his goal became clear once Luka threw the ball toward the basket.
After tossing the basketball as high as possible, it landed a few feet short of the hoop, careened back into the air, and swished without even touching the rim. The fans burst into a thunderous cheer.
Dončić will appear in his fifth straight NBA All-Star Game. We’ll see if he has any other trick shots in store. The game has seen countless highlight reel plays over the years, but a “bounce shot” would undoubtedly be a first.
