Streaming platform Kick has permanently banned one of its creators after they showed their fans how easy it is to code a view bot.
Going toe-to-toe with the industry’s biggest streaming platforms, Kick has quickly become one of the most popular among them.
However, Kick has permanently banned one of its creators for showing exactly just how easy it is to code a view bot.
Streamer banned from Kick for coding a view bot
Streamer NickWhite went live as usual on February 19, before being banned from Kick for“coding a view bot”while live on stream.
In an email, the streamer was at least given an explanation as to why they were banned, which revealed the reason was due to “promoting botting services.”
Typically creators are told how long their suspension will last in the email. However, in the case of Nick White, it appeared to be permanent, as he was given no time period.
Baffled, the streamer reached out for clarity, where they explained it was in fact an “indefinite exclusion.” But, further in the email, Kick stated they “believe in second chances” and would be reducing his punishment to just a one-month suspension from the platform.
Nevertheless, Kick has dominated part of the live-streaming market since its launch, all while directly competing with Amazon-owned platform Twitch. And according to co-founder Bijan Tehrani, the companyrecently turned down a mind-blowing $1 billion buyout.
