Apex Legends star Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen ‘hates’ the battle royale’s current meta because of how big of a crutch Bangalore has become.

Over the last few months, Apex Legends’ meta has been shaken up by Respawn’s changes to Legend perks and abilities. The pick ratesof previously must-use characters like Wraith, Horizon, and Bloodhound have dropped off a fair bit, but you can still win if you use them.

When it comes to the professional side of the game, things are much tighter and closed ranks. If you’re not using the go-to characters, like Bangalore you’re probably not going to be near the top of the leaderboards.

That overreliance on Bangalore is something two-time ALGS MVPImperialHal‘hates’ about the current meta and would like to see changed.

“I hate it, to be honest, just because of Bangalore. I hate playing against Bangalore because of smokes,” the Falcons Esports star said duringthe Esports World Cup.

“I think the previous metas are better. I’d rather have Bloodhound than what we have right now, to be honest. My biggest thing is I just hate playing against Bangalore because of smokes and no aim assist. Other than that, I don’t mind playing Fuse and stuff like that. My big thing too, other than Bangalore, is more like there’s just one good character and every other character is really bad because they got nerfed. So, that’s another thing that’s a problem.”

The former TSM star also urged Respawn to start buffing more Legends instead of nerfs, something he’s stated before.

“Obviously you can nerf the meta legends, but buff other ones to kind of match it,” he added. “Fuse and Bang are the only good characters, the third pick right now is whatever.”

WithSeason 22 around the corner, we already know thatCrypto is getting a significant buffwhich could propel him into the meta.
