It’s nearly time for the grand finale of awards season. TheOscarsremains the most prestigious, momentous event in Hollywood; it’s a night where emotions run high (sometimes a littletoohigh, if you’re Will Smith), surprises are twice as impactful, and the most talented stars in the world are finally rewarded — or not, as the case may be.

This year, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is widely expected to steamroll the competition. It’s nominated for 13 awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, putting it ahead of the likes ofPoor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Barbie.

Ahead of the weekend, here’s everything you need to know about how to tune in and watch the Oscars ceremony this year.

In the UK, the Oscars is showing on ITV — a free-to-watch TV channel. You can just turn on your TV or visit the ITVX website and watch it live there.

You can access ITVX wherever you are in the world with ExpressVPN: sign up, change your location to anywhere in the UK, create an account, and enjoy.

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the 96th Academy Awards.

Speaking toABC Newsahead of the ceremony, he said: “To be honest sometimes I hope things go wrong because it mixes things up a bit. You don’t want everything to be too neatly wrapped up in a bow.

“You want a little bit of mess. You want a little bit of risk and it is a live show and you want to remind people of that. So if something happens – which things seem to be happening a lot lately – I feel like I’ll be ready for it.”
