How to Shazam on Snapchat
Snapchat allows you to quickly identify music using the music recognition app Shazam. Here’s everything you need to know about how to use it.
This integration allows users to discover songs without downloading Shazam or creating an account for it. For Snapchatters, this means turning the app into a social media multitool.
In addition to quickly identifying songs playing around you, Shazam can also recognize music from other apps on your phone, such as TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram.
To share your newfound musical gem with friends or followers on Snapchat, follow the process below:
This feature lets you share the song within the messaging app, showcasing your discovery and potentially introducing others to new music.
While Shazam is now a built-in feature for bothAndroidandiPhones, there is a possibility that you may not be able to Shazam songs on Snapchat. If you have this problem, make sure that you have the latest version of Snapchat.
If it still doesn’t work, you can check if your device is compatible with Shazam and Snapchat.
If you have Snapchat installed, and Shazam is working, and can’t identify songs for you, try moving closer to the source of the music to ensure that background noise doesn’t interfere.
If that’s not an issue, check your device’s settings. There is a possibility that the Snapchat application doesn’t have permission to access the device’s mic. Once permissions are granted, Snapchat can identify the song via the mic.
Shazam is still accessible on Snapchat, but the platform no longer allows you to view your previously scanned songs. The reason for the removal of Shazam history is unclear, but Snapchat has mentioned that they will be “bringing more focus to other Snapchat products, so stay tuned!”
