Thanking the Bus Driver inFortnitehas no big impact on matches, but it’s still an easter egg fans have enjoyed for years. You can even occasionallyearn XP to level upfrom the action, too, so it’s always worth saying thank you before you leave the Battle Bus.
No matter what platform you’re playing on, here’s exactly how to say thank you in Fortnite on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC, and Mobile devices.
How to thank the Bus Driver
To thank the Bus Driver in Fortnite, wait until you’re inside the Battle Busat the start of a match, thenpress the button that you usually emote withon your controller or keyboard.
We’ve listed all the inputs for the different platforms below:
The commands or buttons above are based on Fortnite’soriginal control settings. If you’ve remapped the emote command to a different button, make sure you press that instead.
You’ll know if you’ve been successful because a message will pop up in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen saying‘[your username] has thanked the bus driver’. Your username will appear in orange text which makes it easier to spot.
Aside from being courteous, the main reason to thank the Driver before dropping onto the Battle Royale’s island is thatit can grant you rewards and XP.
While you won’t be rewarded all the time for the action, it’s typically included as part ofaweekly questevery season. When this happens, you’ll earn some XP and the quest will be completed when you say thank you.
Aside from the reasons above, this featurewon’t give you any unique perksor change the mechanics of a match. That being said, it’s a neat feature that occasionally grants some all-important XP, so we’d always recommend doing it before dropping in!
