If you’re looking to capture Groudon in Pokemon Go now that it’s coming back for a limited time, here’s everything you need to know about encountering the Legendary.
Similar toall Legendaries,the only way to capture a Groudon is tochallenge and defeat itwhenever it is featured as aRaid bossafter the raid rotations take place.
After you defeat it in a 5-Star Raid battle, you’ll be given Premier Balls to try and catch it. The amount of Premier Balls you get after will depend on your performance during the encounter.
Shiny Groudon can be easily recognized thanks to its bright yellow tone, which differs so much from its usual red body.
In case you get a Shiny Groudon, you can get a Shiny Primal Groudon too, though it’d be black.
To convert a regular Groudon into Primal Groudon,you’ll need 400 Primal Groudon Energyto trigger the process.
Players can getPrimal Energyby defeating Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre in raids, by completing specific Research Tasks, and by walking with Groudon or Kyogre as their Buddy.
