GoPro’s action cameras are expected to get cheaper this year as the company has hinted at releasing several new products.

GoProhas become synonymous withIRL streamingand vlogging, no matter where you are in the world. LikeApple’siPads, the GoPro has ruled the segment with some of thebest action cameras. But, their premium pricing has been the primary reason people often for GoPro alternatives.

This might change soon, however. The company hashintedthat it is looking to introduce new products, widening its price gamut from $199 to $599.

GoPro’s founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said, “We’re looking forward to launching several new products throughout the year, opening more retail doors at a steady rate, and activating a larger number of marketing initiatives to drive awareness and demand.”

GoPro has also announced its plan to acquire Forcite Helmet Systems – a maker of tech-enabled motorcycle helmets. Since action cameras are extensively used to capture videos while driving, this acquisition could result in a GoPro line of helmets, and potentially better FPV content, as a result.

The company also announced its annual revenues of $285.4 million, which fell short of the forecast of $327 million.

This is probably why GoPro wants to re-introduce its entry-level action cameras to woo budget-conscious content creators. Moreover, the promise to introduce new products suggests the company might launchnew 360-degree cameras.

This announcement hints that we could also see the successor of the GoPro Max 360-degree camera. While GoPro has ignored this lineup for quite some time, we’ve seen a surge of 360 cameras from competitors like Insta360 and others.

The dawn ofVR headsetsand the introduction ofApple Vision Prohave also ushered in the era of 360-degree VR-friendly videos, and the re-introduction of this lineup could not have been better timed.
