Doja Cat recently reactivated her Instagram account, after telling her fans that she’s been having “f**cked up thoughts” due to negative comments.
The ‘Paint the Town Red’ hitmaker is no stranger to receiving backlash, as she’s frequently made headlines for numerous controversies, includingwearing a shirt of alleged Neo-Nazi Sam Hydeandlashing out at “weird” obsessive stans.
Last year, the rapper evenlost over 500,000 followersafter getting into an argument with a fan, and causing several fan pages to shut down fortelling her loyal ‘Kittenz’ to “get a job.”
Now, it seems that the negative criticism that Doja has faced online over the years has taken a toll on the singer’s mental health.
Doja Cat reveals she is deactivating her Instagram
On March 9,Dojashared an Instagram post to her 24.4 million followers, announcing that she will be taking a break from the Meta-owned social media platform.
“Hey I’m gonna deactivate because i’m not really feeling this anymore,”she wrote. “You guys take care of yourselves. I like coming here to find inspo and see people being creative but I just feel like this is getting to be too much.”
The 28-year-old also revealed that she’s had “f**ked up thoughts” due to “the way I’m spoken to on here and treated.” She concluded: “Please watch how you talk to and about people on the internet. Bye.”
Following her Instagram deactivation, fans have taken to Twitter/X to show their support for the ‘Agora Hills’ singer. “Praying she feels better now,” one user wrote. “We love you and respect your decisions, Doja,” another said.
“I hope she takes care of herself,” a third shared. “The hate she gets is just so unnecessary, and people really fail to see how their negative comments can have an impact on someone’s mental health.”
