Another day, another pricing hike on Disney Plus/Netflix/insert popular streaming service here. But this time, Disney is attempting to counteract their rising costs with a new feature, though not everyone is happy about it.
Not long after Netflix users have been “forced into piracy” due to rising prices,Disney+has announced a slate of new plans with higher costs. Thestreaming serviceis getting a price hike up to 25% more than it is now.
Reminder: when Disney+ launched less than five years ago, it was $6.99/month with no adshttps://t.co/mc0R1Gsikj
As one X userwrote: “These platforms really don’t have enough good shows to be doing all this.”
“The fact that streaming services have a PAID AD TIER is genuinely fking disgusting bro. Before we know it, basic cable TV is gonna be back because of the corporate green of these stupid fking companies. This pisses me off so much, omg,” saidanother.
To lessen the blow of the new prices, Disney Plus will be adding a “curated playlist” feature on the platform later this year. The playlists will allow continuous content to be played on a loop. This includes Seasonal Content, Pre-School Collection, Epic Stories (forMarvelandStar Wars movies and shows), Throwbacks, and Real Life.
