Destiny 2 PvP players have rejoiced after Bungie announced they’d be introducing an ability-free modifier for the Crucible Labs playlist.

PvP inDestiny 2has always had a bit of a tumultuous past. The game, which primarily focused on the story and PvE often left player versus player action behind. This resulted in PvP going unchanged for quite some time, with mains of the mode feeling like Bungie had completely forgotten about the player base.

Since that time Bungie has looked to rectify this, introducing new changes to the mode, bringing it more in line with the quality of their PvE experiences. This includesputting Artifice Armor into the reward poolfor ranked play, trying out new game modes, and more.

Bungie often does this through Crucible Labs, which is essentially the developers testing grounds for new modes. Now they’re introducing a new modifier to Checkmate, which will completely take away abilities, much to the enthusiasm of players.

Many Destiny 2 players have rejoiced at the introduction of Hardware, a modifier for the Crucible Labs mode Checkmate.

“It’s no abilities, only weapons! Grab Special and Heavy ammo from crates located around the map and get to shooting,”the TWIDreads.

Players were ecstatic to see the new gun-focused mode.

“I might start playing PvP again…” oneplayer pondered.

“Finally a guns-only PvP mode, I’ve been wanting this for a while,”another agreed.

Many began to joke about Hardware, keen to see how this new take on PvP would change the player base.

“Finally my claims of “Titan BS” will be proven true or false. Probably false, I’m probably a lot worse than I think.” onedeclared.
