Deadpool 3 – aka Deadpool & Wolverine – will see the return of Wade Wilson and his fiancée Vanessa… but how is she still alive?
“Pegging isn’t new for me, friendo, but it is for Disney.” Suddenly, theMCUhas already been revitalized with the lewd, fourth-wall-breaking antics of Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth.
As expected,it seems Deadpool will be messing around with the established timeline– so how is Vanessa still alive?
How is Vanessa alive in Deadpool 3?
Vanessa was saved at the end ofDeadpool2 thanks to Cable’s time-traveling device.
Morena Baccarin’s character was initially killed off early in the sequel when a drug lord broke into their home and shot her, an event that served as the catalyst for the movie’s events.
However, after Cable seemingly used his last chronal charge, Wade enlisted the help of Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio to fix his device. This allowed him to hop through time and fix various things, like saving Vanessa’s life, preventing Reynolds from starring in Green Lantern, and killing Weapon XI.
During an earlier appearance on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Baccarin said: “Yeah, what is up with Deadpool 3? That’s a really good question. I have to be very diplomatic about what I say here. I’d like to be in it. They have called me about being in it. Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. But it may or may not work out. I don’t know.”
Later speaking to CBM, she revealed: “It did work out! I finished my shooting days on it, already. I think the film is now underway again after the strike and I think it’s going to be quite good! Yeah, I think fans are in for a fun surprise.”
