The White Lotus Season 3 will soon be returning to screens, and Conan O’Brien was offered an unexpected role in the new season by star Walton Goggins.
Guest starring on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast,Gogginsspoke about joiningThe White Lotus Season 3, which takes the murderous and oddly-hilarious hitTV showto Thailand for the newest installment.
O’Brien then revealed that he’d spoken to series creator Mike White and offered his services for the latest season. Most notably, he offered to play the part of a sex worker.
“Before you guys started shooting The White Lotus, I ran into none other than Mike White in a restaurant,” he explained to Goggins. “I said, ‘Hey, so the next season of The White Lotus, you’re going down to Thailand, right?’
“And I said, ‘I was there. I had a great time. I made a lot of friends.’ And then I said, ‘If there’s a part for me, I’m available.’
“He looked at me, and he said, ‘You know, there’s a lot of sex work there.’ And I said, ‘I could do that. I could play a part where I’m a male gigolo or something.’”
“Yes, you could do that,” Goggins replied. “I believe that you could do that.” O’Brien then asked: “Do you think I could play that part or do you think I actually could be a gigolo?”
“Well, I think you could do both. I think you could play that part and you could be that person in real life,” Goggins said.
Of course, Goggins’ encouragement isn’t a bona fide offer of employment, as entertaining as it might be to see Conan step into such a role.
