For Season 11, Below Deck is focusing more on the food than the drama and fans are not happy about this change.
When it comes toBelow Deck, you never know what aspect of the show is going to become the center of the season’s attention.
Sometimes it has to do with the many boatmances on board, other times the show centers in on the drama caused by the charter guests.
ForSeason 11, it looks as though production is taking a different approach this time around. Inthe premiere episode of the season, there were several scenes that focused solely on the new chef and the food he prepared for the guests.
What happens in the kitchen is usually glossed over, but now it seems as if it’s going to be one of the highlighted aspects of this season. And fans are already letting production have it for the unexpected change.
Below Deck Season 11 looks more like a cooking show
On February 6, BD viewers took toRedditto comment on the new culinary view.
While some are willing to give the new editing style a change, others are hoping that this isn’t going to continue for the rest of the season.
One fan wrote, “Are there a ton of close up shots of the food and drink this season? Halfway through s11e1 and these close ups are f***ing distracting.”
Another fan chimed in and wrote, “It’s too much. The food, and the lemon cutting okay? I guess? But the one of the chef zoomed in while he’s wiping sweat off his face just looked horrible and like a horror movie shot.”
We’re only one episode into the season, so there’s still a chance that this food spotlight was just a one-time idea.
