Baldur’s Gate 3 has some challenging fights regardless of what mode you’re playing. One player thinks one is the worst and wants the game’s community to call it out more.
Fortunately, Baldur’s Gate 3 rewards player creativity and there are very few ways to solve a problem wrong. You canthrow your dead mom at themor evendrop a bear on them.
Even with all these creative solutions to these fights, Reddit useru/amaterastfustill can’t stand one of them and thinks the player base isn’t “hating on” it enough. The encounter in question is the Death Shepherds in Trielta Crags and honestly, we kind of get it.
For those fortunate enough not to have encountered them, the Death Shepherds fight involves two necromancer enemies that repeatedly revive one another. To make them more annoying, there’s also a bunch of undead around to distract you.
“Spent the last half hour whack-a-moling the Shepherds whilst they jerked each other back into existence,” u/amaterastfu complained. “On top of that, the posse of zombies that will either paralyze you with their bullst claws or rob you of an action with their bullst stench.”
Many players in the comments agreed with the assessment and offered their commiserations. While some suggested tackling the fight at a higher level, one ingenious player offered a pretty solid solution.

“I killed one of the Death Shepherds and then had Karlach pick up the body and put it in her inventory,” they explained. “She’s instantly over encumbered but it kept the other one from reanimating its buddy and I was able to finish the fight without too much trouble.”
This tricky bit of corpse management is an excellent foil to the otherwise annoying Death Shepherds and honestly, we’re kind of mad we didn’t think of it.
Hopefully, it’ll help other players who are struggling with this particularly annoying Baldur’s Gate 3 encounter.
