Apple Vision Pro headset pre-orders are already being sold on eBay for a massive markup just hours after the product launched.
Shipping time quickly grew during the preorder process due to demand, and resellers on eBay have begun taking advantage of it.
Apple Vision Pro sees massive third-party markup
Apple’s Vision Pro pre-orders went live at 5 am PT/8 am ET on January 19, and within the first hour, there were already sold listings with massive markups of over $1,000.
Normally $3499 for the base model headset, but there are sold listings on eBay that have gone for $4,250 and $4,500 plus shipping costs. After the auction site takes its cut of fees, sellers will quickly make around $1,000 in profit.
Despite having to pay a premium, the eBay listings may also help users who were late to the preorder process get their hands on the product much quicker.Apple restricted the preorder processto those who have access to devices that support Face ID, causing some people to have no option to order the headset.
Many of the listings are for the base 256GB Vision Pro, but Apple also released a 512GB and 1TB version that many people are splurging for when going to purchase the headset.
The upgrades come with a price, of course, with the 512GB coming in at $3699 and 1TB coming in at $3899 — and that’s ignoring the added cost of accessories. Companies have already revealed their exuberantly priced cases.
We recently found out that the device willalso not launchwith major streaming services on it.
