Word got out that NFL great Adrian Peterson put up several of his most prized memorabilia for sale. The former Minnesota Vikings running back wasn’t so nice when he shot down those false rumors.

Peterson took to social media to clear the air about the alleged claims. In a direct response, he slammed the estate sale company responsible for breaching their agreement.

What exactly led to this fiasco taking shape in the first place?

It’s clear from Peterson’s tone and stance that he felt the company took a shot at his ego and his welfare. He was adamant in shooting down any speculation that he’s broke.

Front Office Sportsshared the ex-superstar’s video message to the NFL world. Peterson did not pull any punches in expressing the violation of trust and the unnecessary role they played in the matter:

“An estate sale company without my authorization included some of my trophies in a sale, despite clear instructions to leave personal items untouched,” Peterson claimed. “I did not authorize the sale of any of my trophies, and I will be taking legal action.”

Peterson lamented over trusting them to deal with his possessions without supervision before finishing off his rant with another subtle dig:

“I want to emphasize that I am financially stable and would never sell off my hard-earned trophies. And if I was gonna sell them, I know people that I could sell them to. I wouldn’t go online and sell my personal items randomly, so let that sink in.”

Peterson had hired the company to clear out his storage unit consisting of several awards including his 2007 Rookie of the Year trophy. They took it into their own hands to auction them off and are now the recipient of a firestorm from the legend and fans.

However, there isn’t unilateral support for Peterson. Some football enthusiasts questioned why he needed the company’s assistance in the first place. Though, Peterson dispelled the news and has no intention of relinquishing his prizes anytime soon.
