Deadlinewas the first to report the news, with Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns sharing the information about the new project during a Q&A at the Morgan Stanley media conference.

“We’re going to go out with the Twilight series, an animated series, I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that.”

The original Twilight book series and subsequent live-action films were a massive hit for the studio and author Stephanie Meyer. Across the four films made, theTwilight franchise grossed morethan $3.4B globally and in some ways helped launch the careers of its two main stars in Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Both of which have gone on to star in major franchises like Batman, Charlie’s Angels, and more.

Despite Burns’ belief that this new animated Twilight show will garner “a lot of interest”, the early online response from fans indicates otherwise. Across social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) Twilight fans have been sharing their confusion and disinterest at the news.
